Values into Action

This post is for all my incredible colleagues out in the field who bring insights and "value" to the medical community. I know so many of you that do this with great honesty and integrity - this post is for you.

Defining our values and then doing the small amount of work to breathe life into them each day will help put meaning and depth into your days, into your work and into your life.

Defining what your core values are (see my website for an exercise http://www.focusedenergy.biz/ , click on Share, then Energy Shifters and you will see it at the bottom) is the first step in the process. Breathing life into them is the next critical step. Without the follow through, they are words on page, mostly meaningless and flat.

Action Steps to Breathe life into your Values:

1) Take your values and put them into action form

example: If one of your Values is INTEGRITY, ask yourself what living with integrity actually looks like from an action standpoint. Living with integrity can mean "I walk my talk" or "I always do the right thing". Another one of your values might be HONESTY, in action form this might look like "speaking my truth in all that I do" or "Being open and and straightforward in all my communications"

So take your core values and state them in action form.

2) Put them somewhere to keep them top of mind and take 1 minute to review and reflect each day before you begin your day.

Create a list of your values in action. Print them off and place them in a Personal Growth Binder (highly recommend one of these for everyone!). Or input your list on an electronic device - IPHONE, Blackberry, IPAD etc. or write it out in a journal that you keep with you on hand.

Repetition, review and reflection is the key to success to bringing these values to life and have them then influence and guide your daily actions and intentions.

The next time you get thrown off course in your day by a difficult customer, relect on your values and get back on track with what matters most!

Thinking of you on this day...
